BellamyBellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on February 19 1970, ([1]) is an American actor, producer and singer who is best well-known for her character Melody "Mellie", Grant on ABC's drama show Scandal (2012)-2018. For her performance, she won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting actress in an Drama Series in 2014. The actress also appeared in the Fox show Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young's acting journey began as a stage actress. In 1997, Young made her Broadway debut in the role of Mary in the original production of The Life. In addition, her Off-Broadway performances include Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Rock Along (1994) as well as in Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). In 1995, she made her television debut on a recurring character in The NBC daytime soap drama Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. She appeared in two parts of Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. In 1999 , she made her debut in film with one small part in the crime drama Black and White and later co-starred in several independent films. Beginning in 2000, she started appearing as guest-star in a variety of comedy and drama shows on television, such as The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young was a part of more than thirty television shows between 2000 and 2011.
